Concrete Waterproofing Sealers

One of the biggest issues relating to construction and maintenance of housing complexes and office spaces is the problem of water damage. Moisture retention and water damage are two things that render a space useless and in order to reclaim these spaces there is a need for waterproofing sealers.

Now since most of the construction is done with concrete, concrete waterproofing sealers are more of a necessity. There are many companies out there which manufacture and market concrete waterproofing sealers. Let us take a look at some of them and what products are being offered by them.

Seal Krete Concrete Sealer

Seal Krete Concrete sealer is basically a water based sealer that can be used to seal horizontal surface. The sealer is an acrylic sealer, hence it provides for a clear satin or semi-gloss finish. The major advantage of using this sealer is that it is dust proof and is OTC compliant. Also another added advantage is that it is easy to apply and takes very less time to dry. The application can be done using a hand brush.
Seale Krete Concrete sealer is not like your typical sealer. It is based on a new technology that makes it possible to protect and strengthen the surface from the inside thereby ensuring, that the surface that is being coated with the sealer is adequately protected.

Techniseal Brick & Concrete Sealer

Techniseal Brick & Concrete Waterproofing sealer is a siloxane based sealer that provides protection against water, calcium salts and frequent freeze and thaw cycles. The sealant works by penetrating the surface that needs to be protected to form an invisible and durable layer that protects that surface from water penetration as well as surface abrasion. An added advantage of using the sealer is that it is dust resistant and prevents stains that are caused by atmospheric pollution.

The application of the sealer is quite simple and can be illustrated as follows:

  • Clean the surface completely for initial preparation.
  • Ensure temperature of surface is between 50 F and 80 F.
  • Using a paintbrush or a foam roller apply the sealer on the surface.
  • A low pressure spray can also be used by avoid atomization.

Benjamin Moore & Co. Concrete Waterproofing Sealer

Another sealer that is quite effective in protecting concrete from water damage is that Concrete waterproofing sealer manufactured by Benjamin Moore & Co. The sealer is a blend of durable and acrylic resins and works by penetrating the concrete surface on which it is applied. The sealer is best for surfaces that are unpainted or new.

The advantage of using this sealer is that color can be added to it to give the surface on which it is being applied a long lasting color. Also the sealer dries quite quickly and can be very easily applied. Also since the sealer penetrates the surface of the concrete structure, only a very thin film is formed on the surface.

These are a few of the commercial concrete waterproofing sealers available in the market which can help you in solving any problem related to water damage and water retention in the concrete structures at your home or at your office.
